Stranger than fiction

Life is stranger than fiction, they say, so maybe it’s just a coincidence.

A few months back I submitted the first chapter and synopsis of my novel Fragments of a Dream for a competition in a magazine.

It’s the story of a woman who meets the love of her life on a Greek island and goes back years later to find him.

So imagine my surprise yesterday when I read in the same magazine that one of its correspondents is writing a novel. You guessed it. About a woman who meets the love of her life on a Greek island.

Maybe I should be flattered. It proves it was a good idea. Great minds think alike.

Or maybe I should be worried. Little me against the power of the publishing giants.

Or maybe it’s just a coincidence after all.
